Warren Buffett was born in Omaha on 30 August 1930, Nebraska, US. As of 2021, he is 90 years old. He is the second child among the three children and the only son of Howard Buffett and Leila Stahl Buffett. He started his schooling at Rose Hill Elementary School. In the year 1942, his father Howard Buffett was elected to the first four terWarren of the United States Congress. So, after shifting to Washington DC, Warren completed his elementary school and joined a new School named Alice Deal Junior High school.
And finally, he completed his graduation from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947. From a young age, he showed lots of interest in investing and business. Even during his school days he often sold Chewing gum,coca-cola bottles, and weekly magazines door to door. He also worked with his grandfather helping him in his grocery store. Warren was inspired by a book, ONE THOUSAND WAYS TO MAKE $1000, he had borrowed from a public library at Omaha when he was seven years old.
During his high school days, he used to sell newspapers, golf balls, stamps, detailing cars in order to make money. He used to spend his school days in the customers’ lounge of a regional stock brokerage near his father’s own brokerage office because he was interested in investing and the stock market. At ten, during one of his trips to new york, he thought of visiting the NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE. Finally, at the age of eleven, he purchased three cities service shares for himself and three for his sister, Doris Buffett.
During his high school years, he also invested in his father’s company and purchased a 40-acre farm managed by a tenant. He acquired the land when he was 14 years old with his $1200 money. By the time he graduated from college, he had saved around $9800. In 1951, he graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Science in business. Following graduation, he enrolled in the New York Institute of Technology.
